Inventory Management and Storage

IFMS will manage your inventory and monitor inventory levels, pro-actively sending notifications based on predetermined levels when it is time to replenish.

All inventory is stored in secure, alarmed, CCTV monitored facilities.

All locations, whether each pick, case pick or overstock, are bar coded and managed through the WMS allowing for fast and accurate recovery.

Services include:

  • Maintaining inventory in slotted position in warehouse.
  • Replenishing picking locations from overstock.
  • System generated email notifications when product drops below a predefined threshold.   
  • Ad hoc inventory checks as required.
  • Cycle counts for select items.
  • System updates and notifications when discrepancies are identified.
  • Product quality checks as requested.
  • Full inventory counts when requested.

Container Acceptance and De-Stuffing

IFMS will work with your freight forwarder to ensure a smooth transition from ocean terminal to our warehouse. We will coordinate the delivery and then handle the de-stuffing and palletizing of the load. 

Services include:

  • Coordinating with the freight forwarder. Setting up an appointment for delivery.
  • Unloading of containers. Both facilities (Mississauga and Delta) provide dock level loading/unloading.
  • Sorting and placing product onto pallets in preparation for receipt into inventory or cross docking.
  • Quality check of external packaging.

Receiving and Reverse Logistics (Returns)

IFMS will handle all inbound deliveries, whether new or replenishment product, customer or carrier returns.

Upon delivery a visual check will be conducted to ensure no significant damage to exterior packaging. The shipment will then be staged for receipt.
During the receipt process, our team will carefully review the shipment against the advanced shipping notice (ASN) or packing slip. Any inconsistencies will be recorded and reported.

Once everything is accounted for the product will be assigned a location and put away in readiness for order fulfillment. 

Services include:

  • Creation or input of an Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN).
  • Taking delivery of your inventory (replenishment or return).
  • Inspection and receipt against ASN.
  • Recording of purchase order (PO) and/or return material authorization (RMA) information.
  • Updating inventory levels in system.
  • Uploading inventory updates to WebLink. Data can be downloaded into Excel from WebLink for further review.
  • Automatic transmission of email confirmation to client.
  • Location and put-away in warehouse in preparation for fulfillment.
